How to Connect Google Analytics to Your Framer Site
Adding Google Analytics to your Framer site gives you valuable insights into your audience, helping you track visitor behavior, page views, and engagement. With this data, you can optimize your content and improve user experience.
What You Need
To connect Google Analytics to your Framer website, make sure you have:
A Google Analytics Account: Sign up at analytics.google.com if you don’t already have one.
Your Framer Website: Access to the project settings for your site.
A Tracking ID: This unique ID links Google Analytics to your website.
Good to Know
Framer has its own analytics tool you can access through Site Settings → General → Analytics —for more in-depth tracking, this is where Google Analytics comes in.
Step 1: Set Up Google Analytics
Create an Analytics Account
Go to analytics.google.com and log in with your Google account. Click “Start Measuring” to begin setting up your account:
Enter an Account Name, such as your website’s name.
Configure your data-sharing settings, then click “Next.”
Create a Property for Your Website
After setting up your account, you’ll need to create a “Property”:
Enter a Property Name (e.g., “My Framer Site”).
Choose your time zone and currency.
Click “Next” to finalize the setup.
Get Your Tracking ID
After creating the property, you’ll be directed to a page with a “Tracking ID” or “Measurement ID” (it starts with “G-” for Google Analytics 4). Copy this ID—you’ll need it for the next step.
Step 2: Add Your Tracking ID to Framer
Log into Framer
Sign in to your Framer account and open the project for the site you want to track.
Go to Site Settings
In your project, navigate to Settings and locate the “Analytics” section.
Paste Your Tracking ID
In the Analytics settings, you’ll find a field to enter your Google Analytics Tracking ID. Paste the ID you copied earlier and save your changes.
Publish Your Site
After saving, publish your Framer site. This final step will activate Google Analytics tracking on your website.
Step 3: Verify Google Analytics is Working
Once you’ve published your site, you can verify that Google Analytics is connected:
Return to analytics.google.com.
Open your property’s dashboard and check the “Real-Time” report to see if your visits are being tracked.
Troubleshooting Tips
If tracking isn’t working immediately:
Double-check that your Tracking ID was correctly entered.
Ensure your Framer site is published with the latest settings.
It may take up to 24 hours for data to start appearing.
Connecting Google Analytics to your Framer site is a quick way to make data-driven decisions for your website’s growth.
